Burger King says, "Have it your way." God says, "Not with me."
Most of us are double-minded; that is, to think two ways at the same time. We come to church for the wisdom from above. We come outta church and get the wisdom from below. (James 3:13-18)
When you intergrate wisdom from above with wisdom from below, "God says, "Let that man not to expect to receive anything from Me. I'm not going to intergrate my Ways with your ways. My thoughts with your thoughts. You can have Mine or you can have theirs, you can't have ours together."
Suppose a policeman pulled you over and you said, "Well, my friend said I could go 80." It would be an irrelevent conversation. Your friend isn't the authority to the law of the land. You can't have it both ways.
On those rare ocassions when I pull up to McDonald's I'm asked a question. "Give me a number five", and the lady looks at me and says, "Do you want to supersize it?" Do you want just a regular or with just a little bit more investment you can get this big thing of fries and this big thing of soda pop. It won't cost that much but with just a little bit more you get so much.
God is offering the opportunity to supersize it. With just a little bit more investment you get so much more God. You get to make good decisions for the rest of your life. Guess what else you get? Stand up! Guess what else you get? You get the years that the locust have taken away!
